Getting Started with Crochet Spinner Ornaments
Crochet spinner ornaments are a fun way to make unique Christmas tree decorations. They combine crocheting patterns with amigurumi techniques. Let's look at what you need to start making these cute ornaments.
Essential Materials for Your Project
To start, you'll need yarn weight 4, a 5 mm crochet hook, swivel hooks, and scissors. For a boho-style spinner, use light-weight yarn and a 4 mm hook. Adding beads can also make your ornament stand out.
Basic Crochet Techniques for Spinners
Learning single crochet, double crochet, and chain stitches is crucial for making spinner ornaments. These stitches are the basics of most crochet patterns. If you're new to crochet, you can still make this project.
Choosing the Right Yarn and Colors
Pick yarn in multiple colors or variegated yarn for easy color changes. This makes your ornaments more interesting. Try different color mixes to make unique Christmas tree ornaments that show off your style.

I lined up all 4 spirals with the shorter ones on the outside and I took a long string and embroidery needle and threaded it through the tops of all 4 spirals. I went back and forth a few times. I didn’t over tighten so the top wouldn’t bunch up.
I then worked up the head with the same yarn.
Head

Round 1: 8 single crochets in hole
Round 2: 2 single crochets in each stitch around with a total of 16 single crochets
