DIY Wool Flowers with Cotton Buds

Materials Needed:

  • Cotton buds (Q-tips)
  • Colored wool/yarn
  • Green floral tape or green yarn
  • Glue (hot glue or white craft glue)
  • Green pipe cleaners or wooden skewers (for stems)
  • Scissors

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Petals

  • Cut the cotton tips off 5–6 cotton buds (keep ~2 cm of the stick on each end).
  • These will be your flower petals.

2. Wrap with Yarn

  • Choose colored wool for your flower.
  • Wrap each cotton bud in wool tightly (start at one end and wrap toward the center).
  • Secure the end with a dab of glue.

3. Form the Flower

  • Arrange the petals in a circle like a daisy.
  • Glue them together at the center.
  • Let dry for a few minutes.

4. Create the Center

  • Make a small pompom from yarn or roll a little wool ball.
  • Glue it in the middle of the petals.

5. Add the Stem

  • Attach a green pipe cleaner or skewer to the back using glue.
  • Wrap it with green floral tape or green yarn for a natural look.

6. Add Leaves (Optional)

  • Cut leaf shapes from felt or green foam and glue them onto the stem.

Variations:

  • Use white buds and yellow wool to mimic daisies.
  • Try pink petals and a red pompom for a more playful flower.
  • Make bouquets by arranging several flowers in a jar or vase.
